Late reply but… Countries with 120v are less likely to have electric kettles because the difference in time between stove and electric isn’t so extreme. That full kettle on 240v would have taken just 3 minutes.

Even then, that low voltage is still a bit shit though. We have something like 60 amps direct to our smeg hobs. Induction with real knobs, decent voltage, and you’re gold.
