Yes. I used to make bombs and rockets using sodium chlorate and carbon or sugar. Used as solid fuel rammed inside an empty ‘Brasso’ tin (you’ll remember those I guess) and strapped to a roller skate, I think I was way ahead of Donald Campbell!
