If you can get some hardware on the cheap good for you, but it’s a totally risky manoeuvre. Nine out of ten times you’ll screw up and get some Chinese knockoff crap and screw yourself.

I usually buy second hand gear, always locally though you can tell a lot about a sale just by meeting the seller + you can more easily track them down if it is a scam.
