They are pretty pointless these days.
Not really. We just purchased one for our soon to be 9 yr old child. Just perfect for music, spotify acct and everything, some games, and the ability to facetime extended family without the need for a phone plan and data.
Yes but they were only adding all these additions because smart phone. The iPod and the iPhone collided and the iPod lost, It was inevitable.
I think these days you may as well buy a second hand iphone handset rather than an ipod touch. They’re just phones without sim cards, so I don’t see why they should keep making them.
They are great for kids. 
I have 3, in perfect shape, waiting for nostalgia to kick in so I can make some money in the resell market. My kids are not interested in them anymore
I have an old click wheel that I still use. When it goes I don’t know what I will do. When I walk in the mornings I just carry my iPod.
