Our Conservative party are no longer conservative. Labour and the Conservatives are melding into the same thing. The thinking is that Labour are going to win this election anyway so it’s a great opportunity to get rid of the Conservative party and start something new that at least resembles an opposition.

so similar to Canada in the 90s. in the late 80s, the Reform party came on the scene and our conservative party got obliterated in 1993, and the Reform party took over as the right leaning party. So our CPC(Conservative Party of Canada) today is actually the Reform party

That said, our Conservatives and LIberals are again merging into basically the same thing, which is why the PPC(Peoples Party of Canada) was started.
