In the book, it was 2081. In the 1995 movie it was the 2050s.
For those not familiar with the work, all people are equal, or made to equal, to the lowest level. If you’re smart, you wear a headband that reduces your intelligence. If you are a good dancer, you have weights on your legs. If you’re too good looking, you had to wear a mask.
Does it not seem like we are headed that way and the timing may be eerily accurate?
