There was confusion at a popular Coventry nightclub this weekend when a giant sausage was found discarded at the end of a busy night. 147 on Far Gosford Street is a much-loved night spot in the city, regularly attracting hundreds who queue out the street to get in.
One of these keen punters decided to take the unusual item along to the venue this Saturday night. But apparently it got lost in the hubbub of a night out, leading to staff finding it on Sunday morning.
Items usually lost by punters who’ve had a good time include lighters, lipsticks, wallets and vapes among the most common - but meat produce is something of a rarity.

Venue manager Chris said: “Whilst doing our end of night venue checks and cleaning down we found the sausage and couldn’t believe it - we’ve found some random and strange items before, but a sausage? It was huge. There was absolutely no explanation.”
The item, thought to be at least 12 inches long and very girthy, was also spotted in photographs taken while the nightclub was in full swing, with punters posing with it - there are also videos of it being played with on the dancefloor.
To try and get to the bottom of the mystery and find out who had the wurst luck in losing the big banger, Chris decided to use social media as a way to try and find out what happened.

In doing so, the mystery has become the pork of the town, or at least social media, generating tens upon tens of thousands views, likes and comments.
Marketing manager Rob Hall added: “Who would have thought this random item would generate over 100k views in 12 hours and have us being contacted by press and people from far afield for updates on a sausage? SausageGate is real and if it’s yours please come forward as we HAVE to know why.”
