50 Watts Books is a new bookstore (and small press) with a focus on unusual books and ephemera from around the world. It is run by two guys and two cats out of a house in Mount Airy Philadelphia.
This project grew out of 50 Watts, a long-running archive of visual delights and arcana (aka, a blog). The store and imprint will highlight strange and wonderful international books – graphic design icons and odd vintage book covers, surrealism and underground comix, arcane literature and funky gift books, prints, and ephemera. There will be lots of things from Japan and Europe. (This site is a work-in-progress and should feel more populated in a few months.)
