Alana McLaughlin, the second openly transgender woman to compete in MMA in the United States, won her debut Friday night via submission at the Combate Global prelims in Miami, Fla.
The 38-year-old used a rear-naked choke against Celine Provost to end the match 3 minutes, 32 seconds into the second round.
You know what? Fuck it. Women want equality, let them experience equality. No more segregated sports. All compete, regardless of gender at the same level. Yes, we all know what this will result in… but equal opportunity is equal opportunity.
Transgender participants in sports (funny how trans-males aren’t the problem…) is flying in the face of another liberal policy, Title 9. If any of my daughters were to fight off against a trans-woman in any physical contact sport I would tell them to tap out for their own safety. If the feminists want to perpetuate a two-tier sports system, it’s about to become Male sports and Girly-Men sports because they are supporting Progressives.
Trans-women have developed, at least through puberty, with (what would be considered in the female sports world) a significant level of male hormone. Denser bones start forming well before puberty, as does increased muscle strength… but once the hormone surge hits at ~13 there are fundamental advantages they gain physically.
My Answer? (not that anyone asked, of course) Male sports for biological men free of supplements. Female sports for biological women free of supplements, and Hell, an ‘anything goes’ … er ‘Tolerance’ category where anyone taking any supplements and any gender can compete, free of doping clams or hormone restrictions. A ‘safe’ space where people can strive to be who they are and compete free from steroid and hormone restrictions. Let the Trans female who has had a lifetime of hormonal help before transitioning face off against a trans male jacked up on testosterone for a year or so… I’d pay to see what happens.
Not equality anymore, now it is equity. Not equal opportunity of outcome, bit equal outcome. You are all fracking winners! What? You didnt even compete, doesnt matter, you are a winner.
If you want to know about the difference between equality of opportunity and equality of outcome read about the first socialist community in the current US that abandoned the latter for the former. Allowing people to excel individually produces more, drives innovation, and improves the lives of the group/community. Disincentivizing that through taxation hurts everyone, removing all reason to excel through ‘equity’ destroys society.
